Chesed Committee

The Chesed Committee organizes meals as well as other forms of chesed for families who have just had a birth in the family, or, G-d forbid, a crisis. Assistance is also available for those in a difficult situation. The committee works on a rotation basis and the representative changes monthly. Members of the kehilla, are encouraged to contact the representative to inform him/her of a family who needs assistance. Please contact Rochel Taragin for any information at 999-6159 or taragin@barak-online.net.

Who are we?

Kehillat Ahavat Tzion is a registered synagogue with a diverse membership of more than 100 families.

OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A UNIQUE COMMUNITY WITH A CLOSE-KNIT ATMOSPHERE IN THE LAND OF ISRAEL REMINISCENT OF THE WARM COMMUNITIES IN WHICH WE WERE RAISED

Our focus is to integrate with the wider community and create a place where both native Israelis and immigrants can find a home, both socially and spiritually. Typical of our approach is our decision to conduct our lectures meetings and announcements in Hebrew, even though for many of us Hebrew is not our mother tongue.

For more information about our community, please go to our website: http://www.ahavat-tzion.com.

How can you help?

Kehillat Ahavat Tzion was established in 1999 from a core of 35 families. Since then we have expanded to 100 families and over 300 children. We are currently located in a rented home, which we have outgrown. We have recently secured a plot of land on which to build our permanent Bet Knesset, that will be large enough to accomodate our entire Kehilla - but the expenses are daunting. Each member will contribute substantially to our building fund, but our resources are limited and we must still raise funds   from external sources.

Contributions do more than help fund a structure. They ensure the continuation of a flourishing community. At the same time it solidifies the national religious character of our city and helps us showcase our Kehilla as a viable destination for native Israeli and immigrant alike.

If you are interested in making a donation, please email us at marshatwersky@hotmail.com or tanjem@barak-online.net
