GODAVEN.COM
GoDaven Provides Davening Times for Over 1,000 Minyanim GoDaven was started by Yosi Fishkin, MD, in May, 2001, as a new resource to ensure that Orthodox Jews everywhere would be able to easily access Minyan information for all shuls worldwide. The website, located at http://www.GoDaven.com, features a fully searchable database of Minyanim which is growing in size on a daily basis. Visitors from across the globe can easily submit information about their own local Minyanim through a form on the site, enabling their shul information to be immediately accessible to all. Shuls benefit by having a free listing describing their contact information, as well as Minyan times, enabling them to reach a far greater audience than the traditional shul newsletter mailing list. Jewish travelers benefit by being able to check what Minyanim are available in their destination cities well in advance, to enable planning their itinerary around Minyan times. Orthodox Jews in cities everywhere benefit by being able to view all the critical Minyan information for all the shuls in their area at one time, from one centralized location. Additional features of GoDaven include a list of Davening resources, providing links to articles discussing the Laws of Davening, in addition to techniques for improving concentration during Davening. An online discussion forum is set up to allow site visitors to post requests for Minyan information, as well as to discuss all issues that relate to Davening. A bookstore is set up to provide an easy way to purchase siddurim as well as other books related to Davening. Dr. Fishkin is a Chief Resident of Ophthalmology at New York University and the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. He has developed many popular software solutions, including the Atomica and NewsJunkie wireless Palm applications, as well as a Daf Yomi Calculator for the Palm platform.
